Why alignment matters

The patented Align Footwear® insoles work when you walk, run or jump. See Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and answers right here:

Contrary to conventional approaches, Align Footwear® seeks to avoid bracing the foot by using arch supports, compression pads and wedges. Pads of these types reduce mobility and weaken foot muscles. Our insoles correct heel position by means of three planar points, for which we hold the patent. Our insoles coincide with the foot exercises that are often recommended by foot specialists if you have foot problems. If you force the foot into a specific position as you do when you have wedges, compression pads or arch supports, you impair the effect of such foot exercises. Align Footwear® insoles are therefore available only from specialist distributors who have special expertise regarding feet and the effect of these insoles on not only the foot itself, but also the rest of the body.

Our triplanar points technology is an innovative and patented insole designed and developed by an American physiotherapist. Three supporting points in the insoles create balanced foot movement, i.e. the risk of walking awry on the feet is reduced. Walking awry is also called supination and pronation.

When you correct the position of the feet and ankles, you also correct the position of the knees, hips and spinal column – the lower back, middle back and neck – to the shoulders. When your body is aligned in a healthy and balanced position, your body weight is distributed optimally, reducing the risk of inadvertent straining, twisting and jolting. Many people find that when their body is correctly positioned, it may help their sunken forefoot, flatfeet, heel spurs or hollow foot/high arch.

Correcting the angle of your feet and ankles using Align Footwear® insoles has a positive impact on many of the physical challenges you may face: from the ankle to the neck.

Based on many years of research into our triplanar points technology, we have developed a design that brings the ankle up to 32% closer to a neutral position and corrects a pronation (crooked gait) by up to 27%. The insoles also adjust the shinbone up to 40% closer to the neutral position.

Ankle and shin correction is the key to reducing fatigue, pronation and supination. By giving support to the foot, we maintain full foot muscle mobility. You cannot achieve good mobility if you simply build support under the sole of the foot, e.g. with a compression pad or arch support.

Align Footwear® insoles improve mobility, comfort and performance. They encourage a better posture and physical adaptation in the kinetic chain, to make you feel healthier and improve your well-being. When the insoles coax the body into a correct natural posture, the strain of each step is more evenly distributed.

Our insoles reduce the destructive shock waves running through your entire body every time your feet touch the ground. This reduces strain in your joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

You are right in thinking that no two feet are the same. Our revolutionary insoles are unlike any other insole on the market.

Align Footwear® insoles ease your body into a more natural position to give the best possible working conditions for your feet and ankles. Many of our customers have spent a fortune on custom-made orthopaedic inserts, only to find that Align Footwear® insoles provide better and more effective support than anything else they have tried.

Align Footwear® insoles focus on comfort and correction.

Align Footwear® insoles are made of shock-absorbing material that prevents unnecessary jolts and pressure up through the body. You will feel less tired after a whole day on your feet. With Align Footwear’s patented triplanar points technology, we have a unique product.

Three support points are positioned on the outside of the insoles to ensure that your foot, heel and ankle are encouraged to align themselves in a healthy neutral position, avoiding the detrimental, bracing effect of e.g. compression pads, wedges and arch supports on the foot muscles of the sole of your feet.

When your feet and ankles are aligned, the position of your knees, hips,  and back are also corrected. The effects spread all the way up through the body.

Align Footwear® insoles represent a new and innovative approach to the feet.
Our insoles have triplanar points, for which we hold the patent. These points correct heel position and counteract a crooked gait. Correcting the heel and ankle until they are aligned helps to correct the position of our knees, hips and shoulders. The result? A straighter posture. The triplanar points are positioned on the outside of the insole. The insole has no forefoot cushion.

The Align Footwear® philosophy is to avoid bracing the foot with arch supports, compression pads and wedges.

Pads reduce mobility and weaken foot muscles. Weak foot muscles may be difficult to remedy with exercises.
Our insoles allow the foot muscles to move. You retain full foot mobility as the insoles activate the foot muscles. Movement ensures that the foot muscles become stronger.

It is important to bear in mind that coaxing the muscles of the foot to work harder and become stronger, as Align Footwear® insoles do, requires patience and perseverance.
Don’t’ forget that you can try our insoles free of charge. If you do not find any positive effect, you can return the Align Footwear® insoles within 60 days.Align Footwear® will refund your money (EUR 69) in full.

We guarantee that you do not have to pay for anything that has no positive effect.

You have 60 days to find out whether the insoles work for you.
Our bodies are different and we react differently to different types of therapy.
Some customers find that they need some time to get accustomed to our insoles. It may take time for your feet and body to become accustomed to the insoles so we offer you the chance to try them for a period of up to 60 days.

Note: The 60-day money-back guarantee is forfeited if you cut the insoles to size.

Align Footwear® insoles help to reduce pronation quite considerably. 80% of the population suffer from a certain degree of overpronation. Align Footwear® insoles adjust the foot into a more neutral position. The important thing is not to cram an artificial arch under the foot, but rather to retain full foot mobility and activate the foot muscles.

At Align Footwear®, the insoles have three support points called triplanar points, for which we have taken out the patent. The three support points are positioned on the outside of the insoles to ensure that your foot, heel and ankle are encouraged to align into a healthy neutral position, avoiding the detrimental, bracing effect of e.g. compression pads, wedges and arch supports on the muscles under your feet. When your feet and ankles are aligned, the position of your knees, back and hips, are also corrected. The effects spread all the way up through the body.

While the sole of the foot may seem to be the cause of overpronation, the ankle is often the main culprit. When the ankle rolls outwards, the middle section of the foot and the forefoot are forced into an inappropriate position, which causes pronation or flat feet. The body finds it more difficult to move forward, which in turn results in fatigue and biomechanical stress. Overpronation can have a negative effect on posture and cause unnecessary strain on the ankles, knees, hips, and spinal column.

A study made by “Runner World’s” independent expert in the US, Dr. Martyn Shorten PhD, shows that Align Footwear® insoles bring the ankle up to 32% closer to a neutral position and correct a pronation (crooked gait) by up to 27%. The insoles also adjust the shinbone up to 40% closer to the neutral position. No other manufacturer of shoe inserts and insoles can claim the same.

Flatfootedness develops when the ankle rolls inward, resulting in weak and flattened arches. Weak arches stretch the plantar fascia (ligament under the foot) and create unnatural strain. While the sole of the foot may seem to be the cause of flatfootedness, the ankle is in fact the main culprit.

When the ankle rolls inwards, the middle section of the foot and the forefoot are forced into an inappropriate position, which causes flat feet. The body finds it more difficult to move forward, which in turn results in fatigue and biomechanical stress. Overpronation can have a negative effect on posture and cause unnecessary strain on the ankles, knees, hips, neck and spinal column.

The three support points are positioned on the outside of the insoles to ensure that your foot, heel and ankle are encouraged to align into a healthy neutral position, avoiding the detrimental, bracing effect of e.g. compression pads, wedges and arch supports on the muscles under your feet.

When your feet and ankles are aligned, the position of your knees, back and hips are also corrected.

Supination may cause your ankle to rotate outwards or affect the tendons in the shin. It is important that you stretch your Achilles tendon. In a supinated foot, the tendon may feel very tight at the heel. As we get older, stretching the Achilles tendon tends to become more challenging.

Rather than supporting a high arch by cramming an artificial arch under your foot, we correct your foot position by controlling the ankle. Align Footwear® insoles have patented triplanar points technology. There are three support points that ensure that your foot remains aligned and you therefore avoid supination. The design works by reducing strain on your feet and body. The three support points are positioned on the outside of the insoles to ensure that your foot, heel and ankle are encouraged to align into a healthy neutral position, avoiding the detrimental and bracing effect of e.g. compression pads, wedges and arch supports on the muscles under your feet. The insoles also adjust the shinbone up to 40% closer to the neutral position. No other manufacturer of shoe inserts and insoles can claim the same.

We encourage you to give Align Footwear® insoles a chance. Our triplanar points technology focuses on controlling foot position by supporting and controlling the ankle. Try our Align Footwear® insoles on your feet. You can try the insoles for up to 60 days. If you don’t feel that they make a difference, you just return the insoles to us and we will refund your EUR 69 in full.

A sunken forefoot is caused by the ligament and muscle on the forefoot and toes becoming weak and flattened. This can occur if the ligament and muscle are not exercised and strengthened. A sunken forefoot may also be caused by a condition of the foot arising from the toes being forced into a hammer toe position inside shoes for some years.

Training a sunken forefoot may demand a great deal of patience and perseverance – but is not impossible! Align Footwear’s approach is to avoid cramming an artificial support under the forefoot in the shape of a compression pad, which is the prevalent solution offered to the forefoot. We believe it is important to control the ankle in order to optimise physical biomechanisms and give all the muscles of the foot room to move, exercise and become stronger – the way nature intended. Our insoles coincide with the foot exercises that are often recommended by foot specialists if you have foot problems. If you force the foot into a specific position as you do when you have wedges, compression pads or arch supports, you minimise the effect of such foot exercises.

Plantar fasciitis develops when, in layman’s terms, the shock absorbers in the foot become less elastic. Foot elasticity is impaired when the ligament under the foot (plantar fascia) becomes sore and inflamed. Even a small strain can develop into a painful inflammation of the lateral ligaments at the heel. Injuries develop into an inflammation that can cause excruciatingly painful heels. Sufferers describe the pain as like a nail lodged inside the heel. In time, more severe strain can also develop into painful inflammation of the ends of the ligament. Inflammation can also develop as a reaction to severe strain, typically in young people who exaggerate sports training or in older people, e.g. if they walk much further than they are accustomed to. Most feel pain directly beneath the heel where the ligaments are attached to the heel bone. The pain may spread to the sole and then to both sides of the foot. The pain may also spread to the area around the Achilles tendon and to the middle section of the foot.

Align Footwear® insoles realign the foot into a more neutral position and relieve pressure on the plantar fascia and heel spur (if any). Align Footwear® insoles also contain a soft gel that distributes pressure due to a heel spur. We recommend that you combine wearing Align Footwear® insoles with regular exercises to stretch your feet.

Shin splints are a condition that arises due to a strain injury. A strain injury may be due to repetitive strain over a longer period, e.g. running, jumping, or increased frequency or intensity of training cycles. The calf muscles are not strong enough to counteract the strain of e.g. running. The muscles become tired, then irritated and finally the connective tissue (fascia) that is attached to the edge of the shinbone (tibia) becomes inflamed.

Wearing Align Footwear® insoles in combination with daily stretching exercises may help on shin splints. For examples of stretching exercises (in English), see our US website: protalus.com

Don’t forget our 60-day money-back guarantee. Try our insoles. If you do not feel they have a positive effect, return them to us within 60 days and we will refund 69 EUR.

When you wear Align Footwear® insoles in your shoes, your foot is aligned correctly. This has a positive effect all the way up through your body. When the insoles coax the body into a correct natural posture, the strain of each step is more evenly distributed. Our insoles reduce the destructive shock waves running through your entire body every time your feet touch the ground. This reduces strain in your joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

We offer a 60-day money-back guarantee. Try our insoles. If you do not feel a positive effect, return them to us within 60 days and we will refund EUR 69.

Plantar neuroma is a nerve disorder that affects the ball of the foot. The symptoms are localised numbness and pain. Plantar neuroma may be caused by almost any type of irritation of the foot. Therapy includes wearing comfortable shoes and insoles, and anti-inflammatory medication. In severe cases, surgery may be necessary. A plantar neuroma is an enlargement or thickening of the nervous tissue in the ball of the foot. In its most common form, the disorder is found between the third and fourth toes but can occur anywhere on the ball of the foot. Plantar neuroma may feel like a knot under your foot or a stone in your shoe.

Whether you pronate or supinate (i.e. crooked gait: inward or outward), the triplanar points in our insoles can correct your gait/running posture into the correct and healthy position. The support points are positioned on the outsides of the insoles and can be said to “steer” foot movement. Align Footwear® insoles help to relieve the strain on overloaded muscles in e.g. your feet and calves. If you walk or run wrongly, your joints and muscles will overcompensate.

Align Footwear® insoles help to align your feet and body into an optimal physical position.  Align Footwear® insoles with the patented triplanar points in your shoes control ankle and foot movements when you stand and walk, and have a positive effect on the entire skeleton from ankle to neck. You will find that you walk with a healthy, aligned and natural posture. Align Footwear® insoles optimally distribute body weight.

A study made by “Runner World’s” independent expert in the US, Dr. Martyn Shorten PhD, shows that Align Footwear® insoles bring the ankle up to 32% closer to a neutral position and correct a pronation (crooked gait) by up to 27%. Try our Align Footwear® insoles on your feet.

We know from experience that a well-aligned foot – your foot is well aligned when you wear Align Footwear® insoles – can alleviate the body, including the foot itself.

Our insoles correct heel position by means of unique triplanar points, for which we hold the patent. These points support and correct foot position by controlling the ankle and bringing it into a more neutral position. The points reduce the degree to which we tread crookedly on our feet. Correcting the heel and ankle until they are aligned helps to correct the position of our knees, hips and shoulders. The result? A straighter posture.

When the insoles coax the body into a correct natural posture, the strain of each step is more evenly distributed. Our insoles reduce the destructive shock waves running through your entire body every time your feet touch the ground. This reduces strain in your joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

It’s worth a try! Fortunately, you can try our insoles to see if they are suitable for your feet at no risk of wasting your money. Try our insoles. If you do not find any positive effect, return the Align Footwear® insoles within 60 days and Align Footwear® will refund your EUR 69 in full.

It is possible that you can ease the discomfort of swollen legs (peripheral oedema). We often get feedback from customers who tell us that the alignment they achieve from wearing our insoles and the concomitant relief of pressure on their bodies, has reduced the accumulation of fluids in their body.

We cannot guarantee that you will find the same relief but we hope you do!

Don’t forget: You are welcome to try our insoles for up to 60 days. If you don’t feel they work for you, you can return the insoles and get your money (69 EUR) back.

As a diabetic, you will know that it is particularly important to look after your feet.

A pair of insoles can make your feet more comfortable. The insoles reduce strain on areas of the foot that are especially susceptible to pressure so you reduce the risk of developing hard skin and sores.

The insoles align your heel and ankle into a balanced position, which in turn corrects the position of your knees, hips and shoulders. Your posture is aligned.

Hammer toes are a situation where the tendons that are attached on top of the toes contract back, shortening the toe in length and raising the knuckle of the toe.

Our insoles can help this situation by stabilizing the foot and ankle so there is less friction and sliding around of the foot.

Determine if there is enough room in the toe box of your shoes or boots to insert Align Footwear® insoles. Make sure the top of your toes do not rub on the shoe or boot, creating blisters, corns and calluses.

If your legs seem to be of different lengths, the cause may often be misaligned hips. Align Footwear® insoles correct your heel by means of three support points, for the design of which we own the patent. When the heel is aligned and straight, your knees, hips and shoulder will also be aligned. In some cases, alignment can relieve and improve your condition if your legs are different lengths. We advise you to seek medical advice on this matter.

Stretching the leg muscles and Achilles tendon – stretched leg:
– Place your hands on a wall
– Step back with one leg – Hold your leg straight
– Press the heel down on the floor
– Push your hips forwards, bend your other leg slightly
– You should now feel a stretch in your muscles and tendons
– Hold for at least 15-30 seconds. Repeat 4 times for each leg

Stretching the leg muscles and Achilles tendon – bended leg:
– Place your hands on a wall
– Step back with your left leg
– Keep your left leg slightly bended and press your left heel into the floor
– Push your hips forwards, bend your right leg slightly
– You should now feel a stretch in your lower left leg and left Achilles tendon
– Hold for 15-30 seconds. Repeat 2-4 times for each leg.

Stretching the leg muscles and Achilles tendon:
– Find a wall and stand a few inches away
– Place your foot/toes up against the wall
– Keep one heel on the floor and stretch out
– Hold for approx. 10-15 seconds, and then do the same exercise with your other foot.

Stretching the leg muscles and Achilles tendon:
– Sit on the floor and keep your back straight
– Bend one of your legs and pull slowly on the other leg
– Use e.g. a yoga strap or similar around the forefoot of the other foot
– Use the strap to pull your toes towards your head
– Remember to keep the heel on the stretched leg on the floor of the ground all the time.

Massage with ball
– Place a tennis ball under your foot and roll it gently
– This can help relieve pain and irritation if you suffer from e.g. plantar fasciitis.
– Apply slightly more pressure on the ball
– You may feel a little sore but after a while, this exercise is very effective in achieving recovery.
NB: Take a break if you feel too much pain.

It is imperative that a sports insole provides the athlete with optimal support and shock absorption. There are many different brands and variants available on the market. Each has its own approach to the challenges and needs of people who lead an active life with a daily programme of sports and other physical activities. Common to most is that they focus on the foot arch and many include a wedge to support the arch.

Align Footwear’s approach is unconventional. We choose not to place an artificial support under the forefoot, e.g. a forefoot compression pad. To our way of thinking, insoles should be designed to control the ankle, optimise physical potential and give all the muscles under our feet room to move as nature intended. If you wear insoles with compression pads, your foot is restrained and the foot muscles are prevented from exercising and becoming stronger. Align Footwear® insoles have good shock absorbing properties. If you are an active runner, jumper or move faster or more often than others, our insoles relieve the strain on your muscles, ligaments and joints.

Align Footwear® insoles provide effective shock absorption. In addition to shock absorption, some brands of insoles offer additional support in particularly if your running style is overpronating or supinating. If you have an arch or heel (plantar fasciitis) injury, an insole may help to give your foot the support it needs – provided that it relieves pressure on the affected areas.

Align Footwear® insoles offer you:
·         better posture
·         better working conditions for the muscles of the foot. You will find your strength improves here..
·         less strain on joint cartilage, ligaments, tendons and muscles
·         fewer injuries
·         effective, more appropriate patterns of movement
·         better shock absorption
·         less physical fatigue.

For optimal performance, Align Footwear® insoles have three patented points that optimise control, stability and contact between your feet and the underlay.

Align Footwear® insoles work with your foot and create the best possible working conditions for the muscles and ligaments of the lower leg, ankle and foot, and ensure that they are all used as naturally as possible in connection with foot movement.

Among other factors, the insoles are the result of intensive biomechanics research into the kinetic chain. Our research has produced new knowledge about how pressure is distributed across the foot sole in the different foot types (those that pronate, are neutral and supinate). Our insoles strengthen foot muscles and therefore optimise progress in sports training. The insoles focus on correcting heel position so that the knee, hips and shoulders are aligned in a natural, balanced position. The layered design of our insoles means that there are different degrees of hardness in the outer and middle sole of the shoe to optimise contact with the underlay, stabilising and optimally aligning the body.

You therefore have the best conditions for performing at your best and therefore good opportunities to achieve training goals.

It is a great thing that Align Footwear® insoles are also available in children’s sizes:

EU 32 to EU 37/38.

If you correct at an early stage, you can avoid a lot – e.g. in a sunken forefoot later on in life.

Early intervention is important.

Yes. Our insoles are no more than 0.5 cm thick. We recommend that you remove the existing soles in your shoes/boots first. A shoe or boot insole often has some kind of arch support. When you remove this, the Align Footwear® insole rests on a flat surface and you can therefore achieve maximum effect of our insoles – and you will find that your footwear fits well.
There is one exception: boots with flat inner soles that have no arch supports. In boots of this type, you can insert Align Footwear® insoles on top of the existing soles if the boots are roomy enough to allow you to do this.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you can use our insoles in all types of footwear. Using Align Footwear® insoles may be difficult if, for example, you cannot remove the existing insoles or the shoe is very narrow. When you shop for shoes, take your Align Footwear® insoles with you to the store. If the original insoles cannot be removed, you may have to buy a size larger. If you take your Align Footwear® insoles with you when you shop for shoes, you can be certain that the insoles and shoes can be combined.

Yes, if the existing shoe has no arch support and the Align Footwear® insoles can lie flat inside. As long as you do not feel that your feet are cramped, you can wear the shoes with both the original and Align Footwear® insoles.

Bear in mind that you may have to buy shoes in a larger size. If you take your Align Footwear® insoles with you when you shop for shoes, you can be certain that the insoles and shoes can be combined.

We want you to make the best of your Align Footwear® insoles. They are much more than just another new product in your shoes. Check out our guide to get you off to a good start, make the best of your Align Footwear® insoles, and lots more…

One step at a time:
·         First, replace the original soles with Align Footwear® insoles. We recommend that you remove the original insoles even if the shoes are roomy enough to allow you to use the original insoles with Align Footwear® insoles. Use Align Footwear® insoles alone for optimal effect.

·         You can wear Align Footwear® insoles in any shoe that has a heel back, where you can remove the original insoles or if the shoe is roomy enough for two insoles.

·         You must use insoles in both left and right shoes. Do not use only one, even if you pronate/walk crookedly only on the one foot.

·      We recommend that you make an easy start: Wear the insoles for four hours the first day, five the next, six on the third day and seven hours on the fourth day. On the fifth day, you can wear the insoles all day if your feet are comfortable.

Every time you expose your feet to something new, it takes time for them to adapt. It makes no sense to rush. People react to correct alignment in different ways but it should never be unpleasant.

Insoles that correct the foot may initially cause soreness/discomfort: You use your feet and muscles throughout the body in a different way than you are accustomed to. Your feet may be sore but you must not feel pain. If your feet are sore, the soles have taken effect and your body is adjusting itself and getting used to the corrective process.

Many people feel a physical difference after only a short time. You may initially feel sore in various parts of your body. This does not mean that the insoles are doing you harm. It means rather that your body is aligned and you are using other muscles than those you are accustomed to using. If you feel the effects are excessive or overwhelming, remove the insoles. Take a break from them.

When you are ready, put them back into your shoes. Some people feel an immediate effect from wearing Align Footwear® insoles in their shoes. Happily, every one of us is different and we react individually. Your reaction will also depend on the challenges you face. The time it takes will depend on your personal circumstances and issues – and on how your body reacts to new alignment caused by a new pair of Align Footwear® insoles. It can take anything from just a few minutes up to the 60 days, i.e. the period covered by our money-back guarantee.

However, for a good transition, make sure that you follow our instructions and use your Align Footwear® insoles correctly. See also “What’s the best way to get off to a good start with Align Footwear® insoles”?

When you use Align Footwear® insoles correctly (see What’s the best way to get off to a good start with Align Footwear® insoles?), our insoles make you feel more comfortable.

Each time you put your feet into new footwear, there is a transition period. It does not pay to rush it. Let your body guide you. People react differently to alignment but it must never feel unpleasant.

During the first 1-2 weeks, your body may ache due to postural alignment. Your body is now aligned and you are using muscles that you did not use much in the past. If you feel the effects are excessive or overwhelming, remove the insoles. Take a break from them and then put them back into your footwear.

If, after one month of wearing Align Footwear®, you still feel queasy or uncomfortable, please contact us. Together we can investigate the cause of the discomfort.

Our insoles regulate foot position and posture. When the insoles adjust your posture, you may feel differently throughout your body. Suddenly you are using muscles you are not accustomed to using! Be patient. Your posture may have been misaligned for many years and it will take time for your body to become accustomed to a straighter posture.

Any insole that corrects the foot may initially cause soreness/discomfort: you are using your muscles and ligaments differently now. It’s as if you suddenly decide to sit in a rowing machine and row for a couple of hours. How would your arms feel?

When you start to use new insoles or pads, it’s a good idea to start wearing them for e.g. 30 minutes and then increase to 45/60 minutes. Let your body guide you. Within a week or two, your body will usually have adapted to the changes and you will feel changes to the better.

We therefore recommend an easy start. Try using the insoles for four hours on the first day and increase very gradually, i.e. an hour extra each day. If you feel sore, take a break from the insoles. When you are ready, try again and take Karina’s advice: start again with just 30 minutes’ wearing time.

Yes. Align Footwear® insoles are easy to switch from shoe to shoe.

We strive to provide the best possible technology at a reasonable price. If you wear Align Footwear® insoles every day, we recommend that you invest in several pairs.

Our insoles fit in many different brands and types of footwear, e.g. trainers, flats, court shoes, boots – with or without heels, and in sandals (although preferably with a heel back (also known as a heel counter).

Find out if you can take the original insole out of the shoe – to make space for the Align Footwear® insoles and get the optimal effect.

We have feedback from customers who found that our insoles work well with the following brands: Angulus, Candice Cooper, Giesswein (slippers), Green comfort, New Feet, Shoe the bear and Ecco, as well as most training shoes, in which the insole is not moulded or glued to the shoe.

Align Footwear® insoles do not fit in certain types of shoes, e.g. stilettos and very narrow shoes. If you wish to wear our insoles in narrow shoes, you will normally be able to do so if you buy the shoes in a size larger than normal.

Do not forget to take your insoles with you when you shop for new shoes.

When it comes to wearing insoles, it has to be said that not all types of sandals are suitable for use with Align Footwear® insoles. Many of this year’s fashion sandals do not have a heel back. You need the heel back to ensure that the insoles provide the best effect.

When you buy sandals, you should bear in mind that a cobbler or heel bar can stretch leather footwear to adjust the fit. Your local cobbler or heel bar can also provide advice and guidance. In most of the designs we have selected, the soles can be removed, e.g. Rieker, Ecco and Suave.

In some cases, you may have to choose a size larger than your normal shoe size to ensure that your sandals fit. Sandals often have to fit more snugly than e.g. sneakers or trainers.

We have feedback from satisfied customers, who describe how fast and easy it is to affix Velcro or carpet tape (a more permanent solution than Velcro) under their insoles to prevent them from sliding and ensure that the insoles provide good support for their feet.

If your sandals are black and the light edge of the insoles is visible, paint the insoles with a black felt pen. Abracadabra! Your insoles are almost invisible.

Yes. Align Footwear® insoles coax your feet into a more natural position and your body into a more natural posture. Both corrections can reduce pressure associated with walking and standing at work.

We have positive feedback from customers who wear insoles in safety footwear.

If you wish to wear our insoles in safety shoes, we recommend that you buy women’s insoles. They are a little wider than the men’s insoles and therefore fit better inside safety shoes, which often have a relatively broad fit.

The insole is made of shock-absorbent materials. There is a soft gel inside the heel. When the insoles coax the body into a correct natural posture, the strain of each step is more evenly distributed.

Our insoles reduce the destructive shock waves running through your entire body every time your feet touch the ground. This reduces strain in your joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

A wide range of factors can affect the durability of your Align Footwear® insoles, including your weight and how often you use the insoles.

As a rule of thumb: If you weight 100 kg and use the insoles 8 hours a day and 7 days a week, they will last 8-10 months. If you weigh less, the insoles will last longer. If you wear them for less than 56 hours a week, they will also last longer.

Bear in mind which type and size of shoe you use most often and, importantly, the activity you most often engage in when wearing shoes with Align Footwear® insoles. If you wear Align Footwear® insoles all day at work, they will tend to wear out sooner that if you wear them once a week in your trainers at the fitness centre. To achieve the optimal effect on your body, you should wear the insoles as often as you can. If you wear them only while you run, play football or are at work, they will only have an effect at these times. If you switch between several pairs of shoes during the day, it is a good idea to move the insoles from shoe to shoe.

It is always advisable to allow your feet to guide you. If your Align Footwear® insoles no longer seem to give your feet the support they gave when they were new, it may be time to buy a new pair.

You can clean your Align Footwear® insoles in different ways:

A. In a bucket of soapy water. Use a soft brush, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. Turn the insoles face down and leave to dry.

B. In your dishwasher – glass programme max. 30-45 °C.

C. In your washing machine – wool programme max. 40 °C. After washing, turn the insoles face down and leave to dry.

If you find that Align Footwear® insoles make your feet smelly and sweaty, we recommend the following:

• Wipe/clean your Align Footwear® insoles once or twice a week as needed (see section on cleaning your insoles).

• Remove Align Footwear® insoles from your shoes at night to allow your shoes and insoles to breathe. If necessary, change between different pairs of shoes on alternate days.

• Change to another brand of socks/stockings. For some, a more breathable fabric is the answer. For others, a more absorbent fabric is needed to prevent foot odour.

• To absorb odours, sprinkle a teaspoonful of baby powder onto the insole inside the shoe.

• Bathe your feet in warm water and Epsom salts for 20 minutes, once or twice a week.

When you start wearing the insoles, they may sometimes feel warm. This is explained by a better supply of blood to the muscles of the feet when you wear the insoles.

The sensation should gradually disappear as your feet become accustomed to the insoles. There are small air holes at the toe end of the insoles – to allow heat to escape.

At Align Footwear®, we maintain that comfort and correction are important. Our insoles are therefore made from an effective combination of shock-absorbing materials. The insoles encourage a better posture and physical adaptation in the kinetic chain, make you feel healthier and improve your well-being. When the insoles coax the body into a correct natural posture, the strain of each step is more evenly distributed. Our insoles reduce the destructive shock waves running through your entire body every time your feet touch the ground. This reduces strain and prevents inflammation in your joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

EVA – Ethylene vinyl acetate – for a soft and flexible insole.
SEBS – styrene/ethylene/butylene/styrene. For softness and shock absorption.
PORON® ShockPad Foam – a shock absorbing material.
Nylon Pebax Shank: Medical-grade Pebax® thermoplastic elastomer is lightweight, soft and pliable. This material makes the product resilient to cracking.

Our insoles extend the full length of your foot. What is unique about Align Footwear® insoles is direct contact with the big toe. The big toe is the most important part of our foot when it comes to contact with the ground and balance. Align Footwear® insoles affect the entire foot, rather than only supporting one end of the foot or the part that is sore and problematic. Align Footwear® insoles impact both the heel and the forefoot. If the foot is balanced and corrected from the heel and all the way out to the big toe, then it is highly probable that feet and body are perfectly positioned.

Our insoles have triplanar points, for which we have the world patent. This is how the soles help to relieve pain in your foot, knee, hip, back and neck.

When the insoles coax the body into a correct natural posture, the strain of each step is more evenly distributed. Our insoles reduce the destructive shock waves running through your entire body every time your feet touch the ground. This reduces strain and prevents inflammation in your joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

We offer a 60-day money-back guarantee, i.e. you can try the insoles for up to 60 days. If you do not feel they work for you, you can return the insoles and we will refund you 69 Euro.

Yes – but we do not recommend it. If you cut the insoles, you may impair the corrective effect of the triplanar points because the insoles rest crookedly inside the shoe. If you cut the insoles, the 60-day money-back guarantee is voided.

You can purchase Align Footwear® insoles online at www.alignfootwear.eu , where you can also learn a lot about the insoles and the benefits of wearing them.

If you are in Denmark, you are welcome to pop into our Ikast showroom: Our address:

Align Footwear
Siriusvej 1
7430 Ikast, Denmark

Office hours of opening:
Monday-Friday: 09.00-15.00

Please note that our sizing is generous.

We recommend therefore that you order your insoles one size smaller than your shoe size. For example, if you normally wear European size 40 shoes, insoles in European size 39 will fit best.

The benefits of wearing Align Footwear® insoles come from the heel part. You can read more about our insoles’ technology at: www.alignfootwear.eu . It does not matter if your toes extend slightly beyond the edge of the insole at the front. In fact, you are unlikely to notice this.

We always recommend that you measure the foot and get the right size of insoles. If, even so, you receive the wrong size, we will be pleased to exchange the insoles. NB: You pay the cost of returning the insoles to us. Align Footwear® then covers the cost of sending a replacement pair of insoles. This means that we go 50/50 on the cost of returned goods.

Shoe sizes vary depending on the country of origin. The size you need may also vary depending on whether you intend to wear the shoe for partying or training!

We recommend that you choose the size of insole based on the length of your foot, not on your shoe size.

Measure your foot and then refer to our size guide. The insole must not be longer than your foot.

NB: You can cut the insoles to fit but please note that our 60-day money-back guarantee is voided if you have cut the insoles.

A pair of insoles costs EUR 69. The price includes qualified advice and an outstanding 60-day money-back guarantee.

People are different and we react differently to different forms of therapy. We cannot guarantee that insoles are the solution to every condition. There is a certain percentage of the population, for whom insoles have no effect and who are therefore forced to find an alternative solution. Our insoles have been developed by an American physical therapist. Over the last five years, we have found that our insoles help a large number of people across the globe. A fact we are very proud of. Our customers are always welcome to return the insoles within 60 days of purchase and we refund them their money in full. In this way, we ensure that none of our customers ever wastes a penny on something that does not work for them. On the contrary, our customers pay for insoles that work.

Goods returns are processed within seven days of the day we receive your Align Footwear® insoles.

When we have received your insoles, in line with our 60-day money-back guarantee, we will refund your purchase if you have enclosed a copy of the email confirming your order and your bank account details.
